Soliloquy of the Bushy One
by J. H.

Take me away, please;
You have what I need
Nothing is left, all is lost
Take your time you fool
I'm lost and done now
Aimless this winter
Just sitting here to wait
Alone in the oak tree

Why did you do it?
I scampered far and wide
To gather my nut hoard
Then you took it all!
Heartless, cruel one
To steal from a lonesome
Defenseless squirrel
Alone in an oak tree

So now you see my
Forsaken state
The tragedy of a poor
Acorn loving runt
Alone in an oak tree
